Three years of training combines practical work experience with a relevant education syllabus. Through classroom study you willdevelop all-round business and financial acumen, along with problem solving skills. Your work-based experience is monitored through completion of an Achievement Log.
The training programme is designed to ensure each student is is given the maximum opportunity for passing their exams and achieving their end goal - qualifying as a CA.
Employers will determine how many attempts students are allowed at their exams, up to a maximum of four. Exams must also be completed whilst students are under their three year training contract. All class fees and first attempt exam fees are paid for by the employer.

To train to become a CA you must secure a training contract with an organisation authorised by ICAS - either a firm of Chartered Accountants or an industrial, commercial or public services organisation. There are over 1,000 training vacancies throughout the UK with a wide range of employers.
