The work experience will provide you with the professional knowledge, skills, experience and attributes you will need once qualified as a CA. There are around 1000 vacancies with hundreds of different types of employers UK-wide.

Hardie Caldwell LLP is a medium sized firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers based in Glasgow. We are a well established 7 partner firm, having developed a strong reputation within the provision of services to clients and in the depth of training we provide to our staff. Since relocating in 2003, we have taken on board many forward thinking approaches to office working, and are now very proud of the high tech, modern open plan office environment in which we work.
We have strong beliefs in providing our clients with professional advice, focusing on embedding long standing relationships and trust and we adopt the same philosophy with our staff.
As a firm we are structured in Skill Groups whereby we can encompass the wide range of skills amongst our staff and work as groups to support our clients. This provides our staff with opportunities to develop and use existing skills. We also have Focus Groups whereby we concentrate on key sectors such as Charities, Construction, Leisure & Entertainment, and our staff are thereby encouraged to develop and learn new skills.
As an Investor in People, and an ICAS Accredited Employer, we have strong foundations for the structured training that we provide to our staff. We have been a training firm for many years, and are proud of the success that our students have achieved whilst working towards their CA qualification. We believe this is indicative of the breadth of training and the highly supportive culture within our firm.
Recruitment of graduates will typically start in September/October, whereby we hold a Student Open Evening at our offices and invite students who are seeking to study towards a CA qualification to view our offices and meet some of our existing students and newly qualified members of staff. Look out for this on our website and also within the University Careers offices and Accountancy Faculty areas. This gives potential students a great opportunity to see our modern environment and culture at first hand.
